Growing Up Gifted Parents’ Club
A Gentle but Powerful Resource for Parents of Gifted Kids
Gifted children present their parents with a barrage of opportunities and challenges almost from the moment they make their entrance! As a parent, you’ll want to help your children make the most of their ability — and have great fun throughout the adventure.
But that’s not all.
Genius alone doesn’t guarantee success or happiness. It’s at first counter-intuitive that brilliant kids can have significant challenges with self-esteem, resilience and persistence — but when you factor in their expectations of themselves (and everyone else’s expectations, too) as well as the fact that being bright and a quick study may be core parts of their sense of identity, it begins to make sense. These are just some of the topics that I’ll be addressing through the “Growing Up Gifted” Parents’ Club.
If you’d like to participate in informational sessions, discussions and consultation about parenting your gifted child, you’ll enjoy this program.
Membership in the Growing Up Gifted Parents’ Club includes:
- Participation to a monthly teleseminar on a topic pertinent to raising gifted kids.

We’ll cover topics like:- How to work with the reflex shutdown that some children experience when they are unable to tolerate making a mistake.
- How to have fabulous conversations that respect both your child’s unique abilities and her level of emotional development
- How to help kids conform to standards they find unimportant.
- “Why does my gifted child think she’s stupid?!!!”
- How to teach kids the very specific skills they need in order to understand social interactions and have satisfying relationships.
- How to teach organizational skills — and many more topics.
- Participation in a monthly Q&A conference call where you can get ideas and assistance with the challenges you’re facing. You can even submit your questions in advance and just sit back and listen during the call.
- The opportunity to share ideas and support with other parents.
- Access to recordings of all informational and Q&A calls.
- A 45-minute consultation, by phone or at The Self Development Place, with a one-year membership.
No time commitments, no driving — it’s all at your convenience
No meetings to drive to; just pick up the phone and call in to participate.Too busy to talk? You can simply listen in while you’re driving or sitting at soccer practice. And if you can’t make it, the recorded call is available for you to listen to when you’re ready.
